General - Ilanga Hunting Safaris

Hunting Season

Although we can accommodate trophy hunters at any time of the year, we suggest that you plan your hunt between April and October due to the summer heat, rains and thick bush of the other months.

ILANGA African Safaris boasts a variety of terrain types, ranging from mountainous areas to open woodland savannah to typical thick Bushveld. This ensures a big variety of animal species, and promises that no two hunting days will be the same.

Average day temperatures are 31°C (88ºF) in summer and 23ºC (73ºF) during the winter months. Temperatures of over 40ºC (104ºF) in summer are not unheard of. The average low temperature for the winter months is 4ºC (39ºF). The temperature rarely falls below freezing point. Most of the rainfall occurs during the summer months.

Getting there

We will personally meet you at Johannesburg International Airport, from where it is only a two hour drive to ILANGA. After your safari of a lifetime, we will take you back to Johannesburg.

Health Precautions

A first aid kit is always on hand. Hospitals and other medical facilities are just 85km away in the town of Brits . We recommend that clients take out medical insurance before they travel.
